This is a fun and easy activity to teach children about different types of seeds and make a cool 3D picture. Not suitable for children who still put everything in their mouths!

You will need:
- A mixture of seeds and grains. We used: rice, yellow split peas, pearl barley, chopped hazelnuts, mixed seeds, mustard seeds and fennel seeds.
- PVA glue
- Paper
How to make it:
- Choose a shape/picture idea, we did flowers as they are nice and simple
- Draw an outline of a flower
- Cover the centre of the flower with glue and sprinkle on seeds
- Cover the petals with glue and sprinkle on a different type of seeds
- You can add a stalk and leaves if desired
Hints and tips:
– we just used what we had in our cupboard and was out of date but you could experiment with different colours or even dye the seeds using food colouring
– the leftover seeds can be used to make maracas
– you could be creative and draw different types of pictures and shapes, we also tried love hearts
