If you have a few spare toilet rolls lying around then this is a great activity to do with your toddler.
What youβll need:
- Empty toilet rolls (about 10 but depends on the size of the track you want)
- Empty kitchen rolls or Pringle cans for supports
- Paint
- Sellotape and scissors
- Small car(s)
What to do:
- Cut the toilet rolls in half and paint them different colours
- When the paint is dry start assembling the track by sticking the toilet rolls together using the sellotape, try angling them so that they curve inwards. I put sellotape down the middle of the track and along the back to make it more secure.
- Use the kitchen roll or Pringles can and extra toilet rolls to incline the race track

Hints and tips:
– we made 2 tracks so that the cars could race but you can also make just one
– we also cut the toilet rolls in half in order to curve them easier but this may have made it less sturdy
– I found the track wasnβt overly stable, perhaps more sturdy supports would have worked better; maybe duplo or sodden struts would work better
