This simple craft will teach your child about life under the sea, and they can have hours of fun playing with it.

What youβll need:
- Pictures/outlines of sea creatures (either draw yourself if arty or print from online like me!)
- Cereal box
- Lollipop sticks
- String
- Blue/green paper or paint
- Colouring pens
- Scissors, glue and tape
What to do:
- Get your toddler to colour in the sea creature outlines
- Cut the front out of a cereal box so about a centimetre is left round the edge (keep the cut out piece of card). Also cut an approximately 1cm thick strip along the top of the box.
- Roughly cut around the sea creatures and stick to the piece of card you cut out of the front of the cereal box. Then cut the creatures out more exactly.
- Use a hole punch or pair of scissors to make a hole near the top of each sea animal.
- Tie a piece of string to each sea creature using the hole and tie the other end securely round the centre of a lollipop stick. So that the animals hang down into the cereal box but donβt touch the bottom (you can always shorten later if needed).
- Decorate the inside of the cereal box using blue and green coloured paper or paints.
- You can add some stones to the bottom of the aquarium to stabilise it.
- Put the sea animals through the slit in the top of the box and move them along using the lollipop sticks to bring your aquarium to life.
Hint and tips:
– We used a smaller muesli box but this didnβt leave a lot of room fir the sea creatures so a larger cornflake (or similar) box may have been better.
– To avoid boredom I got my daughter to colour in the sea animals while I prepared the box, which we then decorated together.
– We also used tissue paper to act as seaweed at the bottom of the aquarium.
– You could also use your foil fish as animals for your aquarium, instead of drawing/printing ones.
