Egg box turtle πŸ’

Another fun recycling craft using an egg box, this time to make a cute sea turtle.

What you’ll need:

  • An egg box
  • Green paint or felt pen
  • A pipe cleaner
  • A Pom Pom
  • Googley eyes
  • Scissors, sellotape and a glue gun (can do without glue gun)

What to do:

  1. Cut the egg box into individual egg holders
  2. Paint one egg holder green or colour in with felt pens
  3. Cut a pipe cleaner into quarters and fold each quarter into a loop for the feet. Stick the ends of the loop to each corner of the dried egg holder. Either use sellotape or a glue gun (more secure).
  4. Use a glue gun or very strong glue to stick a Pom Pom onto the front of the egg holder to be the head.
  5. Add googley eyes to the Pom Pom head to complete

Hints and tips:

– You can colour the egg carton to make it green, but painting gives a more complete coverage, even if it’s messier.

– If you don’t own a glue gun then superglue should work to stick on the Pom Pom head and googley eyes, and sellotape for the feet.

– You could use brown tissue paper to add a pattern to the turtle’s shell.

– You could use the remaining parts of the egg box to make other sea creatures, e.g. an Octopus or Whale
