Egg box whale πŸ³

This is a great way to recycle and make a fun sea creature friend to play with.

What you’ll need:

  • Empty egg box
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Googley eyes
  • Blue card/paper
  • Blue paint or pens
  • Scissors and sellotape

What to do:

  1. Cut the egg box into individual egg holder compartments
  2. Paint or colour an individual egg holder blue
  3. While the paint is drying draw two flippers and one tail for the whale on blue card/paper, remember to leave a tab at the end to stick each part on with. Cut these out.
  4. Once the paint is dry use a knife to make a cross in the top of the egg holder.
  5. Cut a pipe cleaner in half and twist one end together. Push the twisted end through the cross hole at the top of the egg holder, and fold over to secure it. Twirl the other ends above the egg holder round your finger.
  6. Fold over the tabs on the flippers and tail and stick to egg holder.
  7. Add googley eyes and draw a smile on the whale to complete.

Hints and tips:

– We coloured the egg holder blue with felt tip pens as it was less messy, but paint would have given a more complete coverage.

– You could use the remaining parts of the egg box to make other sea creatures, e.g. a Turtle or Octopus
