If youβre children love the happy monkey smoothies as much as mine then youβll have loads of monkeys for this craft. Alternatively monkeys are on lots of other food packing and magazines, or you could even print some from the internet. However you make them, these puppets are lots of fun to sing the well known nursery rhyme with, and can be used as normal puppets or shadow ones.

What youβll need:
- Pictures of 5 monkeys (i.e. cut out if happy monkey smoothie packaging or from other sources)
- 5 lollipop sticks
- Scissors and PVA glue
What to do:
- Cut out your monkeys (if not in cardboard stick them to some)
- Put some glue on the back of your monkey
- Stick down lollipop stick
- Wait for glue to dry before playing with

Hints and tips:
– You can use these for shadow puppets by building a duplo stage, a duplo supported piece of A4 white paper and a place to hold your phone (or a torch). See photo. Simply make the room dark, put the torch on your phone and the puppets will make shadows on the piece of paper.
– We had coloured lollipop sticks, you could paint lollipop sticks if you wanted coloured ones.
– We also made a bear puppet to be the doctor in the song. You could make a mummy monkey with a phone and a dictionary monkey too.
