This cute craft is lots of fun to do, and makes a colourful addition to any childrenโs bedroom once finished. We read the story of Elmer first to get some colour ideas!
What youโll need:
- An empty milk carton
- Coloured paper /recycling
- PVA glue
- Scissors

What to do:
- Cut the bottom off the milk carton (so that the handle is truncated), then cut out legs and a tail (see pictures)
- Cut (or rip) the coloured paper into squares
- Put PVA glue on the milk carton then stick on the coloured paper till the whole carton is covered

Hints and tips:
– Be careful when cutting not to cut off any legs or it wonโt balance (we had to reattach a leg with duck tape).
– You can either add glue to the elephant then stick on the paper or dip the paper in the glue and stick them on that way, either works.
– Depending on the thickness of the paper it might curl when glued on, just add an extra layer of PVA glue on the top. This will dry clear and add an extra layer of protection.
– We used recycled envelopes and wrapping paper as some of the coloured paper, you could even use magazines if you donโt have coloured paper.
