This rawr-some craft is lots of fun to make, plus your toddler can practise their fine motor/threading skills to make the mane.

What youβll need:
- Paper plate
- Paint (yellow/orange) and brush
- Wool (brown/yellow)
- Knitting needle (optional)
- Brown paper
- Scissors and hole punch
- Googley eyes

What to do:
- Use the hole punch to make holes around the edge of the plate (if you donβt have a hole punch you could use scissors)
- Paint the paper plate yellow (or orange depending what colour you want your lion to be)
- From the brown paper cut out the nose, whiskers, mouth, and eyebrows.
- If the paint is still wet then then the nose etc. should stick, otherwise use PVA glue. Donβt forget the goggley eyes!
- Once the paint is dry, tie the end of the wool to the knitting needle, thread through one hole and tie a knot to secure, then get your toddler to thread through the other holes, leaving some wool loose between holes. You make have to repeat a few times to make a thicker mane.
- Alternatively you could cut the wool into approximately 10cm pieces, push through the holes and tie a knot. Repeat for each hole.

Hints and tips:
– Create the mane based on your childβs ability. My daughter loves threading wool through holes but is too young to tie knots. You could also just cut along the grooves of the fringe of the plate to make a simpler mane.
